This time around, we're buckling up with Kevin Smith for a… wait, what's that? You're wondering what Smith has to do with the long-running & foundational Arrowverse series? Well, before we go any further let's just remind you that Smith's Arrowverse "street cred" comes from not just being a fan but also as a filmmaker who's directed episodes of The Flash & Supergirl as well as making a brief acting appearance in an episode of The Flash and hosting "Crisis Aftermath" (an aftershow in conjunction with the 2019 "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover event). Along with Amell, the image also featured The Flash star Grant Gustin, Supergirl star Melissa Benoist, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow stars Caity Lotz & Brandon Routh. In this case, it came in the form of a behind-the-scenes image from Entertainment Weekly's 2016 photoshoot to promote the then-upcoming crossover "Invasion!" sent to Amell that he shared. So the last time we engaged in a little Arrow nostalgia, it was nearing the end of March and we were taking a trip down memory lane with now other than series star Stephen Amell.

This brings so much more meaning to the song I Have Decided to Follow Jesus. This will mark us as different, weird and uncool when everyone around us is following the world but the benefits of His will far out weigh the costs. God wants the very best for us but we have to choose to follow His will. When dating, it is extremely important to be aware of how the world views relationships and how God views them. In my last post I talked about how important standards are, however when a lot of people reach the dating scene, standards are slowly lowered and the focus on what God wants is lost. We need to be aware of what is of God and what isn't. How easy it can be slip into the "pattern" of the world if we are not constantly seeking and meditating on the Word of God which is our handbook for life. " Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." But that is precisely what God has called us to be. Nobody wants to be labeled as different, weird or, heaven forbid, uncool. Everyone is always worried to some degree about fitting in whether it be consciously or unconsciously. The trip nearly killed Roosevelt, then in his 50s. Before it was over, the explorers would face deadly rapids, Indian attacks, disease, starvation and a murderer within their own ranks. Roosevelt and his team joined forces with Brazil's most famous explorer, Candido Rondon. The trip went from tour to survival contest when Brazil's minister of foreign affairs told Roosevelt about "an unknown river" worth exploring: Rio da Duvida, the River of Doubt. What looked in the planning stages like a leisurely regional tour ended up a harrowing trek through the wildest, darkest heart of Brazil's uncharted Amazonian forest. And it would give the famous outdoorsman a chance to kick around the mysterious Amazon River basin. A trip to South America, where his son Kermit lived, seemed like just the thing to take Roosevelt's mind off his political troubles.
